Whilst holidaying last year in the Mediterranean I had heard reports of jellyfish stings in the water but had never considered I would be on the receiving end of getting stung. A few days later I was enjoying my time swimming when I suddenly felt my hand painfully stinging and quickly realised what had happened. More by good luck than good planning I called out to-my friends who were swimming nearby and they immediately produced a “Stingblade” from an armband and showed me how to remove the poisonous barbs from the sting area instantly. The pain stopped as soon as the Stingblade had completed its’ job!
Being stung on my holiday could have turned a fantastic holiday into a miserable disaster lasting several days and I have since urged all my friends and family to purchase a Stingblade as insurance when going on their summer holidays rather than risk ruining it all from a “stinger”.
As someone who has suffered from more jellyfish stings than anyone, I was desperate for a solution. This blade is a saviour for sea enthusiasts like me! The precision of the scraping edges on this tool ensure a painless removal of the micro-barbs, making it an absolute essential for anyone looking to swim without the worries.

The Stingblade is a game-changer for sea lovers! I was skeptical about its effectiveness, having heard the age-old advice to pee on jellyfish stings. Forget that myth! The Stingblade efficiently removes micro-barbs without resorting to such uncomfortable alternatives. It’s a must-have for every beachgoer who wants to swim without the fear of jellyfish encounters.

I am happy to endorse Stingblade, an ingenious and effective device for removing jellyfish stingers and sparing the victim from the horrendous stinging pain engendered by the jellyfish micro-barbs. I am delighted that this device manufactured in the UK, will be of great assistance to its wearer, when swimming in jellyfish infested waters.
I met Mark for our usual personal training session after he got back from holiday.
To my horror he had been severely stung by jellyfish on one of his swims, and he showed me the extent of the damage to his skin which spanned his side, back and leg.
He told me that he had acted quickly by using some disposable razors to shave the stung area to remove the barbs. He said doing this meant the area recovered much more quickly and didn’t worsen.
This is where the idea for Stingblade was born, during our gym session.

We want to avoid more cases like this, where the first thing the lifeguard did after Danny (pictured) got stung, was to press down on the sting with a wipe and a bottle of vinegar.
Unknowingly due to misinformation, unfortunately all the lifeguard ended up doing was puncturing the jellyfish’s micro-barbs, therefore, releasing the sting’s toxins right into Danny’s back, very close to his spine — which could’ve caused all sorts of nerve damage.
The aftermath was that Danny’s back had bubbled (…that’s the toxins under the skin) and he was sore for months, until he could safely get back into the waters.
Instead, the lifeguard should have used a Stingblade, in order to help assist Danny scraping off the micro-barbs, instead of just popping them into his back by pressing them down.
In Tracy’s own words, the sting from a Portuguese Man-of-War was not just painful—it was life-altering. “The moment the venom coursed through my veins, it was as if a switch had been flipped inside me,” Tracy recalls.
The intense shock and surge of adrenaline triggered a cascade of health issues, wreaking havoc on her thyroid and overall well-being.
Tracy experienced a frightening loss of vision, a stark testament to the potency of the jellyfish’s venom. Days turned into months, and months into years, and Tracy found herself engaged in a relentless battle for her health.
In the sea? Stay sting-free!
…you know it makes sense!
